If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. We will try this and see if the error is gone. The package provides the installation files for Intel HD Graphics Driver version 8. I rebooted again and apparently the "native" driver installed. I did remove the version I had on there by uninstalling them in Control Panel this evening but the suggested driver from Windows Update still would not install. I wanted to try the same version on her machine for the same fix but on the HP machine the driver will not install from Windows Update. I had this problem on my rig (see signature) and removing the most recent display driver from nVidia at the time and installing this driver version from Windows Update fixed it completely. Error (something) at kernel (long list of letters and numbers.)" This is used mainly by my wife. The newer drivers yield the error when using Internet Explorer: "The nVidia display driver has stopped working. I updated the OS from Vista to Windows 7 a little over a year ago. This HP desktop has integrated nVidia graphics. What video card do you have? Newer drivers don't work?
